This additive, once added to feed and total mix rations (TMR), keeps all feed fresh. Heating is a sign of deterioration of the silage which can lead to a decrease in animal consumption and to a reduction of performance or health problems. It is also a loss of energy and dry matter which can easily reach 2 to 3% in a short period of time - less than 24 hours.This is happening often with TMR.
Once distributed in front of the animal, the TMR must remain fresh as long as possible to avoid refusal or a decrease in voluntary consumption and in animal performance. Research done in Quebec University in Abitibi-Témiscamingue demonstrated that FORMX can decrease the pH and inhibit Salmonnela thyphimirium development in meat meal.

FORMX P decreases the pH value of complete feed and furthur inhibits the growth of undesired or pathogenic microorganisms. The inhibition efficiency varies on pH environment.
FORMX P as an acidifier added to the feed will reduce the stomach pH, reduces the incidence of scours and promotes growth performance of growing pigs. FORMX P addition in complete feed in nursery (0-21 days) has been shown to demonstrate additional piglet weight gain.
